Offset Reveals Real Reason Why He Dropped Surprise Album ‘Haunted by Fame’

Offset recently surprised fans with his sudden follow-up to his KIARI album, but now it's clear why he served up the project without warning.

The former Migos member was on Instagram when he saw a post about his latest mixtape, Haunted By Fame. His recent body of work features 11 fresh songs, including collaborations with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, NoCap, and Lil Dump. His second project of the year arrived on Halloween alongside other popular albums, but wasn't received as well as he had hoped. After it failed to enter the Billboard 200 and sold under 8,000 units, Offset said he only dropped it to get out of his record deal.

“Mixtape to get out my deal lol,” he wrote.

Offset's project generated a lot of attention after he mentioned his estranged wife, Cardi B, and her new man, Stefon Diggs, on the song "No Sweat." The song has some shady bars that might be aimed at Bardi and Diggs, who are expecting their first child soon.

"How the f**k you leave Jordan for Rodman?/You a fool if you think that I'm hurt," Offset raps on the track. "You ain't happy, I know how it work/How you married and still givin' birth?/Get some help, b***h, you goin' berserk."

'Set doesn't name names, but it's more than likely that he takes a shot at Diggs by comparing him to NBA star Dennis Rodman. The line about being married and still giving birth is a more direct jab at Bardi. Cardi got pregnant with her fourth child while separated from Offset. Although Cardi filed for divorce last year, the couple has yet to finalize the terms of their divorce.
