McDonald's officially returned its McRib sandwich to certain locations on Tuesday (November 12), USA TODAY reports.
The popular sandwich, which was also launched as an NFT in 2021, was confirmed to have been made available at locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Loss Angeles, Miami, Seattle and St. Louis, among others, according to McRibLocator.com, a website dedicated to identifying locations that offer the limited-time item. McDonald's senior marketing director Giullaume Huin officially confirmed the McRib's return in a post shared on his X account Monday (November 10).
"The legendary McRib returns 11/11 at most McDonald's in the US. It is our most-mentioned limited-time product online, higher than other evergreen items, particularly on X," Huin wrote. "Funnily enough and entirely independent of McDonald's involvement, the McRib has recently found new meaning on internet within the trading and crypto community, as some claim Bitcoin and S&P500 tend to perform well after the McRib makes a comeback, particularly in 2017, 2020, 2021. Coincidentally, when the McRib returned to stores in December 2024, Bitcoin hit a new all-time high. Welcome back, Legend!"
The boneless pork sandwich has gained a cult following due to its limited offerings, with many diehard fans going out of their way to track down the sandwich at select locations. The sandwich offers barbecue sauce, onions and pickles slathered on a piece of boneless pork all on a hoagie-style bun.
McDonald's initially offered the McRib regionally in Kansas City, Kansas in 1981 before including it on its nationwide menu the following year.
