Steve Aoki is gearing up to release his debut album, and has shared some concrete details about the highly anticipated record. Neon Future will be released in two parts. Neon Future I will be released on August 12th, while Neon Future II will drop sometime in early 2015 on Dim Mak/Ultra Music.
That's not all Steve has to say. He is celebrating his monumental release (and raging the night away) with a show - a very BIG show - at none other than the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 16th, just days after the first part of his album comes out. The show is promised to be "the pinnacle of all Steve Aoki shows" and boasts otustanding productions, a number of special guests, and what is a Steve Aoki show without cake and the S.S. Aoki? Tickets for the MSG show will go on sale May 9th at 12 p.m. ET on Steve Aoki's official website.
Here's a quick preview of what you can expect:
If you're wondering what to expect from the album, Neon Future Part I will reveal collaborations with some very big artists including Fall Out Boy, Empire of the Sun, will.i.am, Flux Pavillion, Bonnie McKee, Machine Gun Kelly, and of course, Waka Flocka Flame. Steve recently unveiled his collab with the rapper, "Rage The Night Away," and it is the album's first single.
In a press release, Steve says of his upcoming album, "When I think of the dance world, I think of how it’s a colorful world. That, along with my fascination with futurism defined the concept of my new album, Neon Future." He continues, "I see the future in a more of a utopian sense, built through technology, music and color. These concepts became the driving force for the creation of my first double album.”
